Your Purpose Matters For Eternity

Many people spend their lives trying to create a lasting legacy on earth. We want to be remembered when we are gone. Yet, what ultimately matters most will not be what others say about you but what God says. We were not put on earth to be remembered. You were put here to prepare for eternity. Living to create an earthly legacy is a short-sighted goal. A wiser us of time is to build an eternal legacy. Remember, one day you will stand before God and He will do an audit of your life, which is the final exam before you enter eternity. The Bible says, each of us will stand personally before the judgment throne of God to give personal account to God (2 Corinthians 5:10). Fortunately, God wants us to pass this test, so He has given us the questions in advance.

Living life on purpose is the path to peace. While life on earth offers many choices, eternity only offers two: heaven or hell. Your relationship with God on earth will determine your relationship to Him in eternity. If you learn to love and trust God; Jesus Christ, then you will be invited to spend the rest of eternity with Him. On the other hand, if you reject His love, forgiveness, and salvation, then you will spend eternity apart from God forever. This life is preparation for the next and life on earth is a temporary assignment. Brothers and Sisters in Christ, God is not promising us that there will not be trials and tribulations a long the way, but He has promised that when this time occurs, He will be with us all the days of our life.

The purpose of our lives is far greater than our own personal fulfillment; it is far greater than our peace of mind, or even our happiness. It is far greater than family, our career. or even wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this earth, you must consult God. We were all born by His purpose and for His purpose. Purpose is the essence of life; it directs us in the course of our journey throughout life. A life without any purpose is like being lost at sea or lost in the desert. When your purpose in life is not the same as the purpose of God, even though you may have a purpose, you are still lost, because a wrong purpose directs you in the wrong direction.

You may be going somewhere, but it is not where you are supposed to be. Our salvation through Jesus Christ leads to our true purpose in life. Without Jesus Christ, a person is lost and therefore has no true purpose in life. As we surrender our lives to Jesus, He leads us according to His purpose. We may not fully understand God’s purpose, but through our faith in Him, “We know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according His purpose” (Romans 8:28). Everything in life we go through may not seem good to us, especially the trials and sufferings, but we know that as we trust God, the good and the bad work together to fulfill God’s purpose in our lives.

What is stopping you from fulfilling God’s purpose for your life? Is it ignorance, selfishness, pride or unlovingness towards God? At the end of your journey, what is it that you want your life to be? Is it a life without purpose; a life opposing God; a life perishable or do you want to live a life pleasing God, fulfilling His purpose, loving and serving Him for eternity? God even delays the coming of the end of the world so that more people would have the opportunity to know Him and be saved: “The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but all come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

I have watched Christians go to pieces when they have lost a loved one. The pain is REAL. I can reflect back 4 years ago when I lost my best friend and her unborn in a tragic accident the same day I was in her presence and 10 days later I lost my cousin in law in a tragic event in which I was also in her presence before it happened. I got a chance to see both of them. That was a hurtful and painful feeling! I was so devastated at that point, which opened my eyes to see things clearer knowing that God had a purpose for my life. The hurt and pain I felt drew me closer to God surrendering my life fully to Him asking Him what it was He wanted me to do. I was tired of running from God’s purpose for my life. Sometimes it takes tragic events to get our attention! And from that day forth, I have been walking in my purpose that God has laid out for me.

The truth of the matter is that God is no respector of persons and He treats and loves us all the same. If we are going to be used by God, then the first thing we need to do is understand the purpose of our lives. By going through those emotions, feelings and grief, I was ready to work for the Lord. Something I should have been doing a long time ago, but I had to experience loss, grief, hurt, disappointments, etc. to get to my breaking point. The Bible clearly makes it clear in Ephesians 1:4-5, “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world , that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us into the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will”. Not only does God want us to be a part of His family, but He also wants us to spend eternity with Him.

So what is life here about? Life is a preparation for eternity and your purpose matters. God has a long range of plans for our lives. Life is a dress rehearsal. We all need to get prepared for eternity by getting to know God, becoming more like Jesus and letting God use you to fulfill His purpose here on earth. GOD is REAL

God has the power to forgive sins, but He will not put forth His power toward an impenitent sinner-Lucretia

The power of God shows us that God is not a fairytale for grownups, but a wonderful reality. Without the power of God, our faith is empty. God is not a theory, He is REAL and full of life and power. The power of God must be the foundation for our faith. The Bible says that the faith of any believer should not be founded in religious reasoning, but on the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:5 states, “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God”. We can discuss and reason all of our life, but then the power of God touches and transforms us and words are no longer needed. Then, we know with every part of our being that God is REAL and that He loves us and wants to heal and save us.

Do you long to experience the power of God in your life? Jesus Christ walked in incredible power and instructed His followers to do the same and to demonstrate the kingdom of God. We need both the love and power of God. Without the love of God, His power will be destructive. But without the power of God, His love will be useless. Many Christians have the wonderful love of God, but they don’t have the power to conquer sickness, darkness, evil, and powers of the demonic. All they can do is love and lose the battle! We need both love and the power of God.

There are many things that prove that God is REAL in my life. Throughout my life, I faced a lot of difficult situations even to this day that witness how real God is in my life. When I was 4 months pregnant with my second daughter, I had a dream that I miscarriage at 8 months. When I turned 8 months pregnant, I started having complications, in terrible pain where I cried out, “Oh, Lord this is my dream, I am going to lose my baby”! Being rushed to the hospital where emergency surgery was performed within 1 minute. My daughter was healthy, thank you Jesus! What the enemy meant for bad, God turned it around for my good! The doctor told me if I hadn’t gotten to the hospital in time, then I would have miscarriage. Now here it is 14 years later, my daughter has grown beautifully and still healthy.

It is so much I can say about God to inform you on His existence. There is a God, He is alive, in Him we live, and we survive. How can anyone deny the reality of God when they see a baby? Even when it thunderstorms, I love to listen to the rumbling of thunder. It reminds me of God’s majesty and power. The Apostle Paul said creation was the best evidence of God’s existence. “For since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen” (Romans 1:20).

The Bible itself is proof of God’s existence because He used 40 unrelated people over a period of 2000 years to write His unique love letter to us. There is nothing like the Bible because it carries the same consistent message throughout all of its 66 books. The most amazing thing about God is not that He exists, but that He loved us so much that He was willing to send His Son to earth to save us from ourselves. Jesus was with the Father from the time of creation and His arrival was predicted numerous of times. Finally, He came to live among us. Jesus is not an elusive fairytale. He is the living, breathing, touchable Son of God.

I have a strong personal friendship with God in which I possessed a long time ago. Atheists may not be convinced that God exists after listening to a storm or reading the Bible. But when I’m asked to defend my faith, I don’t start an intellectual argument. God is not the author of confusion. I must reflect on the word of God. 2 Timothy 1:12 states, “I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed”. There are many reasons I am convinced that God is REAL but the best evidence is how He forgive sins. We all fall short from the grace of God but it’s whether we make a change or continue to go through it.

I can feel God’s love from the day He created the world. From that action and other creations, I can see God’s love since He could have disregarded us but He stays with us and acts as our parent and takes care of us as His children. God’s love is unfathomable! #ThePowerofGod #GodIsREAL

“Faith Makes All Things Possible”

The Holy Spirit moves us to trust God in such a way that we would have never done so with our own human strength. He’s also the One strengthening our faith. Our faith in God literally transforms us into people that He can trust and count on to fulfill His perfect will for humankind.

Faith allows us to condition and organize our lives in such a way. His will and purpose can be accomplished into us. He wants us to trust Him in the context of not only allowing Him to work through us but to make us become stronger, better, and wiser Christians.

I didn’t understand what God was doing in my life until I fully put my trust in Him to lead me where He wanted me to go. Taking God up on His offer, you can never go wrong. Therefore; my strength, endurance, and patience determined my level of faith. Everything that we have as a believer from salvation to the last stage of the Christian life called glorification, revolves around our faith in God through Christ Jesus. How God sees us in the area of faith is based on how much we’re willing to trust Him by allowing Him to work through us, in us, and for us.

Faith is built and strengthened by remembering how faithful God has always been in His Word along with how faithful He’s always been to us all throughout our journey. When we’re struck by a dire circumstance that seizes our whole attention to the degree that we start forgetting how powerfully God has been working through us, look back over your life and think about how God delivered and sustained you through your previous life storms. Use that as a stepping stone that will enable you to trust God more and more about the current issues and situations you are dealing with right now.

Faith and obedience walk together. If we claim that we have faith in God, we must be willing to obey what He says. Our faith in Him is the vital element that sustains us in time of needs, trials, and hard sufferings. By having faith in God, we can certainly look way beyond life’s obstacles with a firm assurance that He’s with us no matter what happens. Complete faith in God will empower you to behave in such a way just as if your best days are still ahead of you. You should strive to always look beyond them by shifting your attention away from them to what God can do on your behalf.

To summarize faith; it is trust, assurance, and confidence in God and Jesus Christ. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen”-Hebrews 11:1. Living faith does not just believe that God exist; it is demonstrated by one’s service and obedience to God. When praying to God, you must be sincere and have the faith that God will answer your prayer. Why worry when you can pray? Why pray, then worry? Your faith is increased by drawing closer to God through prayer and study of His Word.

God will increase your faith if you fervently ask Him for it and seek to draw closer to Him in prayer and reading of His Word. To complete your faith, are you willing to believe and do whatever God tells you? Will you believe God or what you can’t see? God needs to find out just as He did with Abraham-“to know” will we obey, no matter what, until the end (Matthew 10:22). To test our faith, God’s pattern is to bring us to a point- a brick wall or red sea- that seemingly have no escape. That is where He can find out what is truly in our hearts; hearts of belief or evil unbelief ( Hebrews 3:12).

Understanding The Battle

“Mommy, I’m hearing voices”, as my youngest daughter cried out 4 years ago! When I would go into her room, I would make her cut her television off because she had fallen asleep with it on numerous of times. When I would cut the T.V. off she would cry in despair. She stated the reason she left her television on because she was scared and hearing voices. I knew then, I was under ATTACK!

I’ve learned that if the enemy can’t get you one way, he will come through your loved ones, especially your kids. The enemy knows your weakness and will use that against you. I started in constant prayer with my daughter, together, me and her standing in her room. I also reminded her that Jesus was BIGGER than those voices she was hearing. I also educated her on how the enemy worked.

After we prayed and put it in God’s hands, she no longer experienced hearing those voices. Glory to God! God is All-Powerful. He is the Alpha the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last, the Head and not the Tail. God is good guys! Though, you may not face such an overt attack on your family, the truth of spiritual warfare exists. We have a real enemy, Satan, who wants nothing more than to destroy our lives, our thoughts, and our walks with Jesus (John 10:10). He, along with his hoard of demons, roams the earth, seeking ways to wreak havoc on God’s Kingdom (1 Peter 5:8).

Unfortunately, we tend to live in two extremes: as though Satan doesn’t exist or as though he’s bigger than God. Neither is correct! Satan does exist. He’s a created being who use to experience the paradise of God. For one defining moment, he overted his eyes from God’s glory and rejoiced in his own (Ezekiel 28:12-15). In that, he rebelled, deceiving a third of angels in heaven (Revelation 12:4). And he’s waged war ever since.

HERE ARE THREE WAYS TO COMBAT SPIRITUAL WARFARE DURING YOUR TRIALS:

1.) Understand We Are At War

Generally, we do not go to war because we understand the work and sacrifice involved. That is why war is usually considered a last option. It’s avoided at all cost when the choice is up to you. But when war has already been waged against you, the only choice you have is to fight back or surrender. As Christians, it is important to realize that war has in fact already been waged against us and we must choose how to respond. 1 Peter 5: 8 tells us: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” There is a spiritual war going between God and the enemy and when you choose to follow Jesus Christ, you automatically become an enemy of the evil one. To not realize this, is like walking onto a battlefield unarmed and unprepared. Understanding you are at war is the first strategy for victory.

2.) Fight The Right Enemy

The greatest struggles we face as Christians are not against people or institutions. It’s against evil spiritual forces in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 warns us: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”. If we do not realize who our enemy is, then we are like a blindfolded boxer aimlessly swinging at anything that comes close. We mistakenly attack family and inaccurately label friends as foes. We must realize who our real enemy is as we fight for our faith or else our defensive attacks will do much more harm than good.

3.) Know Where Your Victory Lies

The important thing to remember about this war is that God has already won. The enemy does not want people to know God, to love Him and experience His everlasting love. Before Jesus, it seemed as if the enemy had the upper hand because sin kept us from God and since everyone sins, it appeared no one would have the chance to have a relationship with the God that made them. But then Jesus came, died on the cross as a perfect sacrifice for our sins and covers those that places their faith in Him with righteousness required to be one with God. That means if you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior, you have already defeated the enemy! Hallelujah!

My advice to you is to intentionally remain where you are until God shows you an open door (no matter how difficult it may be or seem). Be encouraged that God is right there with you, and remember each encounter with Him is another opportunity to serve others.
